Streaming, Teaching, and more in Lockdown

Wow - these last few weeks have been extremely busy! Talks with the university, regular streaming, melodeon teaching, work, and everything else has been FULL ON! I thought I would write a little post about what is going on, and what's coming up over the next few weeks.

First of all, the streaming. To those of you who have donated and are regular attendees of the Facebook streams on Wednesdays and Saturdays, you have my heartfelt thanks. It is people like you who are helping to make a massive difference to not only my stream and brand, but to those musicians and industry personnel that have unfortunately been affected during these troubling few months. I also would like to welcome those that are new here, and particularly those from further afield. With viewers in North America, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and more, it's a pleasure to have you joining. I hope that maybe one day, when we have pulled through these dark times, I can come and travel to learn about the folk music of your heritage, and maybe do a cheeky gig here and there!

After long talks with Newcastle University, I have taken the decision to remain in Sussex for (at least) the first semester. The logistical side, as well as the restrictions in place, have meant that it simply isn't feasible for me to travel up. Please don't be worried when you see a stream or a lesson that still has me in my room - it's fine!

These melodeon lessons are going brilliantly! Working with beginners and advanced players has really kept me productive in a musical sense, as opposed to in a work sense. I have been working on so many different tunes on different configurations of boxes, and I've been learning on the job too! I want to thank those of you who are students of mine for putting up with me - it's a pleasure and I couldn't ask for a more amazing group of people! I love you all <3

I keep mentioning that I'm working - what is up with that? If you didn't know, I run a record label and studio services under the name 'Millpost Records'. I have been working on material for one artist who has a track on the label website, and I have another FOUR ongoing projects. Two full length albums, two EP's, and all of the contracts, meetings, mixing sessions, mastering, licensing, and more is a lot to have going on. You may have seen before that my debut solo album 'Down By Some Pleasant Arbor' has been pushed back. This is due to focusing on work and supporting more artists, but it is coming... eventually!

If you want to have a listen to the track that I worked on, you can view it at http://www.millpostrecords.com - I hope you like it!

I'm signing off here this time - I'll try not to leave it too long until the next update! As always, keep an eye on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube (More posts coming soon!) for the latest in what I'm up to.

Stay safe everyone!
